Each link below is for a template that students can access and modify.  Use of these templates will develop computer and software skills while reinforcing curriculum concepts.  The templates can be downloaded and saved to the computer in advance and then accessed for student use.  Additionally, teachers in the Caesar Rodney School District can contact shari.galgano@cr.k12.de.us to receive a disk containing all the templates and/or have all the templates saved onto their classroom computers or shared directories.

Downloading Directions:

  • Right-click on the name of the template you want to download.
  • Choose "Save Target As".
  • Browse to the location in which you want to save the file (Local C, teachershare, desktop, Floppy A, etc.).  Be sure you know where the file is being saved.
  • Click "Save".
  • Close or minimize Internet Explorer.  Open the file from the location in which the file was saved.
  • Be sure the file name is changed before saving any changes that students make so that the blank template is not overwritten.
Graphing

Skittle Graph - Use this activity to compare the number of Skittles in 2 different bags.  Do all bags have the same number of Skittles?  Are the colors distributed equally?  Students enter the number of Skittles and it will automatically graph.  This activity was designed for Kindergarten.  Older students should make the graph for themselves. 

Favorite Farm Animal Spreadsheet - Use this spreadsheet with the whole group and your LCD projector.  Each student can enter their favorite farm animal and dynamically watch the graph change.

M&M Graph - Using this spreadsheet, students estimate and record the number of each color of M&M they think is in their bag.  Then the actual numbers are counted, recorded and graphed.

Conversation Hearts Graph - Same activity as above only using the Valentine's Day Conversation Hearts candy.

Lucky Charms Graph - Same activity as above only using Lucky Charms cereal.

Pet Survey Graph-Drag and drop the pet pictures into this table to complete a bar graph based on a student survey.  Print and use this Survey Data Sheet prior to making the graph so that students can collect their own data.

Do you Like Pumpkin Pie? - Use this graphing template for students to record a yes or no answer.  Template counts each response and makes a bar graph.

Have you Ever Flown on an Airplane? - Use this graphing template for students to record a yes or no answer.  Template counts each response and makes a bar graph.

Have you Been to a Zoo? - Use this graphing template for students to record a yes or no answer.  Template counts each response and makes a bar graph.

What's Your Favorite Thanksgiving Food? - Use this template to graph students favorite Thanksgiving food?

How Many Teeth Have you Lost? - Use this template for students to record the number of teeth they have lost.  The template counts the responses and makes a bar graph.

How Many Letters are in Your First Name? - Use this template for students to enter the number of letters in their first name.  The template will count and graph the results.

Favorite Skittles Color - Use this template to graph a classes' favorite color Skittles.

YES/NO Generic Graphing Template - This template can be easily modified to accommodate any Yes or No question.  Directions for modifying the graph/survey are included.
Sorting

Fishing Bears Vocabulary - Drag and drop the letters to spell the vocabulary words from The Fishing Bear. Right-click and choose "Save Target as".  After saving the file then open it from your computer.

Letter U Sort - drag and drop the "u" pictures onto the PowerPoint slide.  Right-click and choose "Save Target as".  After saving the file then open it from your computer.

Seasons - Drag and drop the pictures into the correct season.  Right-click and choose "Save Target as".  After saving the file then open it from your computer.

Animal Beginning Sound Sort - Drag and drop the animal pictures into the correct location based on the beginning sound.

Beginning Sound Sort - Drag and drop the pictures into the correct column based on the beginning sound (C, H, F, D).

Beginning Sound Sort 2 - Same as the activity above only using M, N, S, T as the beginning sounds.

Beginning Sound Sort - Drag and drop the words beginning with "K" into the Kite.  Uses K and B beginning sounds.

Beginning Sound Sort 3 - Same as the activity above only using Ch- and Sh- beginning diagraph sounds.

Animal Sorting - Using the venn diagram, sort the animals into farm and zoo categories.

Shape Sorting - Drag and drop the shapes to sort them.  Includes circles, triangles, and rectangles.

Living and Non-Living - Sort the pictures into "living" and "non-living" categories.

How Much Does it Cost?- Drag and drop the correct amount of money into each box.

How Much Does it Cost 2? - Similar to the activity above.  Uses higher numbers and heads and tails on the pennies.

Rhyme Match - Use the line tool to connect the 2 pictures that rhyme.

Rhyme Match 2 - Same activity as above using different pictures.

Which One Doesn't Belong? - Delete the picture that doesn't belong.

Which One Doesn't Belong 2? - Similar to the activity above.

Brown Bear Sort - Sort the pictures of the animals in Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you See?

Long A Short A Sort - Click and drag to sort the pictures and words into the correct vowel sound.

Long E Short E Sort - Click and drag to sort the pictures and words into the correct vowel sound.

Word Family Sort - Drag and drop the words into the correct word family.

R-Controlled Vowel Sort - Drag and drop the ar/or pictures into the correct category.

Flying Bugs and Crawling Bugs - Click and drag to sort the bugs into these 2 categories
Sequencing

Growing Flower Sequence - Type the number of each of the 6 steps to grow a flower from seed. 

Mommy Bird Story Sequence - Click and drag the slides into the correct order.  Type a word to complete each sentence.
Letter Sounds

Beginning Sounds - Type the letter that the picture begins with.

Ending Sounds - Type the letter that the picture ends with.
Word Recognition

Pets - Match the pet picture with the pet names.

Bugs - match the bug pictures with the bug names.

Zoo Animals - Match the zoo animals pictures with the zoo animal names.

Nocturnal Animals - Match the nocturnal animals pictures with the animal names.

Label the Parts of a Face - Drag the words to the correct parts of the face.

Label the Parts of a Plant - Drag the words to the correct parts of the plant.

Find the Correct Word - Find the word that goes with each picture and change the font color to red.

Easter Picture Sentences - Use the highlighter tool to highlight the sentence that describes the picture.

Look and Read - Underline the sentence that describes the picture.

Fall Words - Type a fall word in each section of the graphic organizer.

Snowy Words - Type a word in each section of the graphic organizer that is associated with snow.

Turkey Words - Type 6 words into the graphic organizer associated with turkey or Thanksgiving.

Penguin Verbs - Complete each sentence by dragging the correct verb and picture into the box.

Animal Names - Drag and drop the letters to spell each animal name correctly.

Miscellaneous
Weather Graph - This template includes a sheet for each month of the year.  Enter the daily weather conditions and temperature.  The conditions and temperature will dynamically graph each day.  Directions are included with the template.
Weather - Students drag and drop weather graphics and type the month and day to complete the 1-week calendar template.
